Pastor Chad Parks
Chad has been a member of Second Chance Church since 2013. He is a bi-vocational pastor, serving as a sergeant with the Plainfield Police Department in addition to Lead Pastor at SCC. He accepted the position as Lead Pastor in June 2017.
Chad is married to his high school sweetheart, Heather, and they have three children: Jordan, Nevaeh and Matéa. Chad graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a BS in Management and is a veteran of the US Air Force. He is currently attending Nazarene Bible College.
Pastor Ryan Garner
Ryan and his family have been a part of Second Chance Church since the inception. He currently serves as Executive Pastor for SCC and has been a pastor with the Church of the Nazarene since 2001. He and his wife, Andrea, have four children.
He also works at Shepherd Community Center, on the near east side of Indianapolis, as their Director of Facilities. In 2000, Ryan earned his BA in Religion at Olivet Nazarene University. Before joining the SCC team, he served as pastor in Fairbury, IL and Streator, IL. He enjoys spending time with his family and woodworking.
Pastor Phil Lanz
Spiritual Formation Pastor
Phil is the Spiritual Formation Pastor at SCC and a core member of the SCC Worship team. He has been a member of SCC since late 2017. He is a seminary student currently studying at Nazarene Theological Seminary for a Masters in Theological Study.
He has an undergraduate degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Pastoral Ministry. While at MVNU, he met his wife Lauren. They married the summer after his freshman year. Lauren and Phil have one son, Judah, and a child on the way! Phil enjoys the outdoors, playing music, and reading.
Worship Arts Director
Heather began attending SCC in 2013 and quickly joined the worship team. In November 2017, she became the SCC Worship Arts Director.
Heather’s story is saturated in God’s mercy, love, and grace. Her passionate desire is to invite others to experience this same love, healing, and power through intimate and vulnerable relationship with Jesus Christ. She leads worship with a quirky authenticity and sincere joy.
Outside of SCC, “Mrs. Parks” can be found sub-teaching at PCMS and PHS. She’d rather not be found while exploring nature, talking to animals, or visiting historical sites. She’s married to Pastor Chad, and they have three kids: Jordan, Nevaeh, and Matéa. Her favorite Bible verse is John 1:5.
Media Arts director
Joshua is the Media Arts Director at SCC and member of the SCC Worship team. He has been a member of SCC since the inception. He is a police officer with the Plainfield Police Department.
He has a BS in Criminal Justice from Olivet Nazarene University. While playing golf for ONU, he met his wife, Amy. They married in the fall of 2007 and have two sons, Carter & Jack. Joshua enjoys playing golf, music, and listening to podcasts.
Youth Group Director
Andrea is married to Ryan Garner, and they have been blessed with four kids. She is now navigating the teen years with her older two, Ramsey and Alex. Kaylee and Sami will soon follow, keeping her with a teenager for the next twelve years. She has been a part of SCC since its launch in 2011. She has worn many hats and accepted the youth leader position in 2017. There is a teen house party and events on the local and district level.
Her favorite passage is found in Ecclesiastes 3.
Andy & Heather Kayler
CARE Team Directors
Andy and Heather joined the SCC family in 2013. At that time, SCC was a “Set Up & Tear Down" church on the Northside of Indy in Carmel. Their desire to become more involved at SCC led them to volunteer as part of the set up & tear down crew.
As CARE Team Supervisors, they coordinate an awesome group of volunteers that truly believe in “Serving Those Who Serve”. The CARE Team is responsible for keeping our church building looking great! Every week, individuals and families sign up as volunteers in committing a couple hours to sweep, mop, empty trash cans, and clean toilets for Jesus!
Engagement Team Director
Elizabeth has been attending Second Chance Church since June 2013 with her husband, Justin, and their two children. She is currently a Recruit Officer with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Her favorite verse is Psalm 139:9-10. Her main goal is to engage people whenever she has the opportunity.
Kenny & Amanda Gaddis
Kenny and Amanda work together as our Director of Missions. They were married in 2010 and have two children, Kameron and Maelyn. Aside from leading our outreach initiatives, they are House Party leaders and serve weekly on our Engagement Team.
Amanda also serves on our church board and recently accepted her Local Minister's license. Outside of church, Kenny is a manager for Ashley Furniture, and Amanda teaches Public Speaking at IUPUI. When they can, they love enjoying the outdoors and traveling to Disney World as a family.
